A Reason, A Season or a Lifetime

beautiful sunset

Hi all,

I’m up ridiculously early this morning, thanks to my crazy loud neighbor. I’m pretty grouchy about it, but I’m going to try to turn it around…at least now I have a head start on the day and get to drink coffee a whole hour earlier than usual! Yay, me!

I really want to try and get back into the habit of letting things go, not caring so much, and just being relaxed. It seems like for the past few years I haven’t been myself - I have been on this roller coaster of ups and downs of emotions. I have totally forgot who I am. It is kind of a scary and overwhelming place for me - I feel out of control sometimes. I have felt this constant tension in my body, where it feels like every muscle and nerve is pulled as tight as possible. It puts me on edge. I feel like I cannot make a solid decision to save my life and even when I do, I second guess it. I wake up feeling like no one understands me - hell I don’t understand me. I have had overwhelming feelings of loneliness and I think I finally know why, because I don’t recognize myself anymore, I don’t know how to be myself, I don’t know where I fit in or belong. Don’t let social media rule your world.

Social Media has become a huge part of today’s world, and though I use it - I try to be cautious about how much time I’m spending on it, and what I am using social media for. It’s a nice tool to have to stay connected with people near and far, but lets face it most of us don’t even talk to the majority of the people on our “Friends” list - me included. I keep the people on my “Friends” list there for mostly one simple reason, when I am feeling insightful - I want to share it with as many people as possible. I do know that many people don’t care what I have to say, many people are too lazy to read my long posts, and some just don’t notice - but to the ones that do, I hope it helps in some small way - to those that don’t I hope someday I say exactly what you need on the the exact day you need it most. Louise Hay

One of my favorite authors in the self help world is Louise L. Hay. Louise Hay is known as one of the founders of the self-help movement. She has written several wonderful books such as, “Heal Your Body”, “You Can Heal Your Life”, “All Is Well”, and several others including children’s books. I have such a deep connection with myself when saying the affirmations I have learned so much from reading her books and listening to her audio recordings.

I have suffered from low self esteem most of my life and have tried so many different things to win this battle, Louise Hay is the answer. It takes dedication and commitment from myself and a wonderful support system, but using her books and affirmations as a foundation has been life changing. [Read more...]

The Four Agreements & The Mastery Of Love

Two of my all time favorite self-help type books are “The Four Agreements” and “The Mastery of Love”, written by Don Miguel Ruiz. These books aren’t your corny, far out type self help books. They are cozy and feel good, with a heaping side of personal growth. [Read more...]

New Beginnings and Happy Endings

“Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” (Carl Bard)

This quote is so great! We cannot waste time fussing about the past and all the coulda, should, woulda. All we have is right now, today, this very moment - so grab it. So what if things didn’t start out the way we planned, plans change, all the time. In fact, the only thing that is consistent is change. There is no sense in wasting time being bummed about things you cannot change. If you want a happy ending then start writing it right now, get out there and go after what you want.
