Visitors, exploring, and fun in the sun!

Hello doll’s!

I have been so wrapped up with my mind blowing cleanse and the fantastic giveaway that I forgot to tell you all about my dad, his friend, and my friend Kristine coming to visit. I cannot believe I let it get away from me. I have so much to tell you about!

Dad & Friend

Soooo, My dad, his lady friend, and my friend Kristine flew down from Oregon to see me in California. While we were waiting for Caiden to get out of school, we went to Seal Beach and enjoyed all the beach shops. Seal Beach is one of my favorite places, the beach is so clean, the shops are adorable, the food is amazing, and the whole place feels cozy and welcoming. Later, after picking Caiden up we visited The Pike in Long Beach. The Pike is this really great little boardwalk area with restaurants, fun shops, and the harbor with a lighthouse! It’s beautiful and the weather was great! We poked around the shops and found some fun trinkets, went to the candy shop, and sat down for some really fantastic mexican food with a beautiful view of the harbor. It was such a perfect day!

Kaysha Comfort and Caiden

Saturday we went to this delicious restaurant called The Attic and it was amazing. It is in Long Beach near Belmont Shore, which is a really fun location. The restaurant is in a renovated house and it has a really cool porch with outdoor and indoor seating. It was eclectic, comfortable, and friendly. We sat in a window seating area and the bench we sat on was covered in pillows…I was so tempted to lay down and take a nap. The waitress was so much fun, she was informative, kind, and the perfect balance of being attentive and giving us our space. There is nothing worse than a waiter or waitress that is nowhere to be found or that won’t leave you alone long enough to even get a small bite of food. The food at The Attic was divine! They have items such as Chicken Fried Steak Benedict, Mac N’ Cheetos that has bacon and flaming hot Cheetos in it, and Chicken pot pie…are you drooling yet? I know I am! Everything is made fresh - as in, right when you order it and all the ingredients they use are super fresh as well. It’s kind of like going to a dinner party at your super foodie friends house! It’s so inviting, delicious, and one of a kind! Last, but certainly not least, they have a Bloody Mary called, “The Meaty Man”…or something like that…the point is it is the BEST bloody mary I have ever had in my whole life. I’m not a huge drinker, but I do love a good bloody mary - and I’m a total picky ass when it comes to my bloody mary.

Bloody Mary

Ok…buckle yourself in for this one…it has bacon in it, green olives stuffed with pepperoni sticks, celery (I hate celery), and is topped with a beef brisket slider! Yep, you heard me, topped with a freaking slider!! This drink is a meal in itself. Seriously, if you live in SoCal, do yourself the favor of eating at The Attic in Long Beach…if you don’t live in the area, do yourself a favor and take a vacation all based around eating at this place. Shit, now I want to go there…Whoops!

Kristine and Caiden

Saturday was a very special day, because it was my beautiful friend Kristine’s birthday! My dad and his lady friend took Caiden to Venice beach for the day and then kept him overnight, so I could spend time with Kristine for her birthday! After our luxurious breakfast we came back home to shower and leisurely get ready for the evening. Our sweet friend Rene sent Kristine some chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements, and she was on cloud nine. It was totally fitting of Rene to send those, because she has a great blog about food…called My Simple Kitchen…go check her out if you haven’t already! She is fantastic!

Kaysha and Kristine

Kristine and I went to Huntington Beach and poked around at all the shops there, Huntington Beach has it’s own style and can be very trendy and chaotic at times - it’s great for people watching. After Huntington Beach we headed home to change again and grab a taxi. We decided to spend the evening at Belmont Shore…which can also be trendy and busy, but a little less chaotic than Huntington Beach, in my opinion. We found this cute little italian restaurant to have dinner at…it was absolutely perfect for us two gals. We then walked up a couple blocks towards this place called, Nick’s on 2nd for drinks. We decided to pop into Nick’s on 2nd, because it is where we were having Easter brunch the next day and I thought it would be fun to scope it out. I had these skinny margaritas, that were literally heaven in a cup. I could tell that the ingredients were simple and fresh. We drank and chatted, just us two ladies and it was a perfect night with my sweet Kristine!

Rainbow Caiden

Finally, Easter Sunday! We were waiting for our table and decided to kill some time with some Starbucks and ran across the most whimsical shop, ever. I’m in trouble…because now I know it exists and it’s so close to where I live! Aaaaaaa!!! We went to Nick’s on 2nd for brunch. Holy Moly…delish! Deep fried deviled eggs for starters…you can use your imagination after that! Yum! We wheelbarrowed our full hineys back home and laid out at the pool for the rest of the day. It was one of the best Easter’s…so relaxing and calm. Monday they all flew back to Oregon which was sad because I was having so much fun with them, but it was time for Caiden and I to get back to our routine and all of them to get back home!

Do you have any favorite things to do when your family or friends come to visit? Or…any must try restaurants with corky yummy food? Leave me a comment, I want to hear all about it!

xo,

K
