Hello loves!
In honor of Valentine’s Day I’m going to show you a great gift idea. It’s homemade, which I think are the best kind of gifts to give. There is something so special about putting your time, love, and creative energy into something you’re going to give to someone.
This craft is very near and dear to my heart. I made it for my fiance. He travels a lot for work and it’s very important to me that he knows how much I love him, whether he is near or far. He works so hard and deserves to know that he is thought about and loved at all times. It’s a way for a little piece of me to be with him when he is away traveling for work. He made this craft even more special by incorporating it into his marriage proposal to me. He is a true blessing that I adore through good and bad. I hope that this craft can bring you some special memories of your own!
Let’s get crafting!
What you’ll need:
1) A deck of playing cards
2) A hole punch
3) Construction paper
4) Double sided tape
5) 2 metal binding rings
6) A pen
7) Stickers
This craft is called 52 Reasons I love you!
1) Get out your 52 playing cards and punch two holes in each card. (make sure the two holes are in the same spot on each card, later we will bind them together)
2) Cut out 52 small square pieces of paper. (color of your choice) I used black.(Make the square pieces of paper a bit smaller than the actual playing card.
3) Begin writing your “52 reasons I love you” on each piece of paper with a pen. (color of your choice) I used a silver pen.
4) Next, tape each of your pieces of paper to your playing cards. Tape them on the playing side of the card. Use a joker card to create your front cover.
5) Now it’s time to get creative! Have fun and decorate the cards, I used scrapbook stickers with sweet sayings on them.
6) Once you’re satisfied with the way your cards are decorated, it’s time to put the binding rings in…and Voila! You’re done and have a great, unique, and homemade gift.
You can do this project for other occasions such as, birthdays, anniversaries, christmas…really anytime for anyone you love!
Note: The reason I suggest using double sided tape over glue is because using glue makes the cards thicker and rigid. The cards lay a lot nicer using double sided tape.
Get out there and spread some love!
K
