Sharing magical moments

I had the most wonderful time spending some alone time with the love of my life. It was beautiful and magical to just be in his presence. The love and pride I feel for Chris is unmatched. We got to see the beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheater together, explore downtown Denver, watch a Colorado Rockies game, and so much more. It was so peaceful and special to just do nothing, everything, and anything just him and I.

Making Memories!

Caiden got to experience his very first concert a couple weeks ago. It was pretty incredible to watch the joy and happiness he was feeling. Everyone remembers their first concert and there is no doubt he will never forget his. It was the perfect welcome home trip after he spent a month in Oregon.

Hey y’all!

Wow, it’s been forever. I’m sorry I have fallen off the face of the earth as of lately. I feel like I have been overwhelmed with feelings, life, travel, and school. I’ve been trying to get my thoughts together and share a post that is meaningful rather than throwing something together that has no real substance. So, here I go….

I’ve been facing a lot of questions and fears about life recently and it is scary and overwhelming. I recently took a trip back to Oregon, where I was born and raised. I was so excited to go back and visit all of my friends and family. It had been a year since I was last in Oregon and I have never been away from where I grew up for more than a few weeks. I grew up in a small town around a really tight knit group of people. The tiny town and my clique became my security blanket. I had always wanted to get out and expand my horizon, but when I finally did, it was scary and intimidating. I left everything and everyone I had ever known and I did it for the best reason in the world. I moved to be closer to the love of my life. I do have moments where I have a bit of a pity party, especially when I’m feeling lost. However, going back to Oregon gave me a whole new perspective on my life at home. [Read more...]

My DEEP Thoughts

Hey y’all!

I hope some of you tried out my yummy jambalaya recipe I posted recently. I did! Mmmm, talk about some serious Comfort food (pun intended, haha). So, to all you mama’s out there…schools out! How do you feel about that? I’m ready for school to start again. It’s only been a week and so far I’ve been told “No” 357 times, I’ve been asked 4,000 questions, I’ve gone to the pool, the park, and everywhere in between. I forgot how much my time alone during school means to me.

I’ve been taking college classes online and I use the quiet time to get my work done…and usually do blog stuff, but I’m in full on lazy girl mode. I don’t know what my issue is…I’m just a big pile of mopey, lazy, Netflix watching bones. However, I’m about to be childless for a couple weeks and though I’m looking forward to it…it terrifies me at the same time. I’ve got anxiety, irrational thoughts, and concerns that are totally ridiculous; I know I’m going to miss that little monster terribly. When Hot Sauce goes out of town, Chris and I mope past his room…as if somehow he may magically appear. It’s pretty pathetic and super cute at the same time. I’m thankful for our kiddos and the time we get to spend with them. I’m also thankful for our alone time…I think we find a decent balance, and that is extremely important in a healthy relationship.
